JULY 2, WEDNESDAY
Day Hike (1A). American River Parkway - Fair Oaks. We'll walk along the American River, 5-6 miles, no gain, to Bannister Park and return. Meet 8 a.m. @ the FOCC (Fair Oaks Com. Clubhouse) at Temescal and California. Park on the street, not in the community center parking lot. From Hwy 50, take Sunrise north to Fair Oaks Blvd, turn right, Fair Oaks becomes Bridge, left on Temescal. Optional lunch at a local restaurant after walk. Not limited to singles. Camping Trip. Humboldt Redwoods State Park - Williams Grove Group Campground Join us for some great camping in the beautiful Humboldt Redwoods State Park at the Williams Grove Group Campground, located on the Avenue of the Giants for 4th of July weekend. Cost is $40 per person, plus a meal assignment. We'll organize group breakfasts and dinners, so you will only have to cook once for the weekend. Bring a beverage to share around the campfire at night. We will provide information on setting up carpools. This is a fundraiser and any remaining money

Younger Adults Squirt Gun River Raft. American River It's naval warfare on the American River! We'll take 6, 4-person rafts and go for a 3-4 hour gentle float on the American River from Sunrise Blvd. to Goethe Park and battle with squirt guns along the way! $17 per person; includes rafts, paddles, life vests and return shuttle to Sunrise Blvd. Meet 9:30 a.m. @ 11th & P Street parking lot, downtown Sacramento or 10 a.m. @ American River Raft Rentals (http://www.raftrentals.com/) in Rancho Cordova. Just Dinner. Arden Fair Mall
Finish up the holiday weekend with dinner. Meet at 5:30 PM in the center of the Food-O-Rama near the movie theaters just East of Arden Mall. The Mall is on Arden between Howe and Business 80 (Capitol City Freeway). There are several choices of food. No reservations needed. Leader: Barb 916.925.5862.
JULY 12, SATURDAY
Gorge Scramble (Level 2-beginner trip) Cape Horn, N.F. American Wild and Scenic River Canyon - Added
We will start this outing from the Stephens Trailhead near Colfax. Descend 900' and hike 4.5 miles
along the south wall of the canyon the river and its confluence with Secret Ravine. Then gorge scramble
and float the 2.25 miles to the Iowa Hill bridge. This is an excellent trip for first time scramblers.

Cliff House to Golden Gate Bridge This is a great stroll along San Francisco's Land's End trail with beautiful views of ocean, beaches and a cypress forest. 8 - 10 miles and 500' elev. gain. Bring lunch (or buy it at the bridge), water and $$ for your driver, bridge toll and optional dinner afterward in Marin County. Batteries for cookie deal: bring your old dead batteries and receive a freshly baked cookie in exchange. Stop in Davis upon request. Younger Adults Day Hike (2C). Round Top On this extremely strenuous loop hike in the Mokelumne Wilderness we'll journey through an alpine paradise of beautiful lakes, meadows and wildflowers and conquer the summit of 10,381' Round Top! Dazzling views from the summit. 9 total miles, 2,180' elev. gain. Participants must be in excellent condition and will be expected to keep up with the group. Bring jacket, lunch, water and money for optional dinner and optional carpooling. Rain cancels. No dogs. Limit of 12. Contact leader for reservation and meeting info. Day Hike (3C) Fourth of July Lake at Carson Pass - Added
Fourth of July Lake at Carson Pass in the Mokelumne Wilderness Area. This
is a 3C moderately strenuous 10 mile hike
that starts at Carson Pass in the Sierras. Approx. elevation gain is 2000'
tot. with two humps at 9,000 ft. There should
still be some snow and the wildflowers are usually very good. Some sections
of the trail may be muddy so wear good hiking
boots. I walk at a brisk pace so this hike is most suitable for those who
hike or work out regularly. Forecast of thunderstorms

Day Hike (3B). Lyons Lake (Desolation) Hike along Lyons Creek up to Lyons Lake. About 10 or 11 miles round trip, and 1,800' elevation gain going up to the lake, with some steep, strenuous stretches. Hikers must be in good to excellent condition. This is a great hike for late season wildflowers, so bring your camera. Also bring layers for changeable weather, sturdy boots, 3 or 4 liters water, lunch, the usual 10 essentials, $ for carpool driver and dinner, and swimming attire. Rain cancels. JULY 14, MONDAY
Bike Ride (4A). Fish Hatchery to Folsom Lake Ride up to Beals Point at Folsom Lake, and perhaps beyond, from the Fish Hatchery off Hazel Ave. and Hwy. 50, along the American River Bike Trail, which is paved. A moderately paced ride of 18 to 20 miles, with some hills, 750' elevation gain. We'll have an early lunch or snack at Folsom lake, perhaps walk down to the lake, then ride back down the hill. Great views of Lake Natomas and Folsom Lake. We may see nesting egrets or herons along Lake Natoma. Singletrack "detour" upon request. JULY 17-20, THURSDAY-SUNDAY
Younger Adults Full Moon Hike (4E). Half Dome On the evening of July 18th and under a brilliant full moon, we'll depart from Curry Village (4,000') in Yosemite Valley and hike to the summit of Half Dome (8,836') in time to witness a glorious sunrise! 17 total miles. This is a brutally strenuous hike; you must be in supreme physical condition and not have acrophobia. You must make your own accommodation arrangements for 3 nights (July 17, 18, 19); options are: camping www.nps.gov/yose/PlanYourVisit/camping.htm, non-camping www.YosemitePark.com/Accommodations.aspx and motels (outside of Yosemite in El Portal and Mariposa). All accommodations inside/outside of Yosemite fill up quickly for the summer, so reserve as soon as possible. If this trip is cancelled for any reason you'll be solely responsible for any accommodation cancellation fees. No group size limit,

Paddle Lake Natoma
Join us for an after work paddle and potluck dinner.
This is an easy paddle on flat water, but you must have your own canoe or kayak, paddle, and CG approved life jacket. We will launch promptly at 6 pm, so come early enough to unload your boats. Day Hike (2B). Showers Lake in the Carson Pass area Spectacular views of mountains and meadows, and beautiful alpine flowers too. This hike starts at high altitude (8,500'). We will do a loop of 10 miles total & about 1,000' elev.

Day Hike (3C). Tinker Knob Starting from Donner Pass, we will hike along the Pacific Crest Trail. Spectacular views of many peaks such as, Mt. Rose, Castle Peak, Anderson Peak, etc. The hike will be about 16 miles & 2,000' elev. gain. Meet at 7:30 a.m. @ Roseville Park & Ride, or 8 a.m. @ Auburn Courthouse. JULY 19-20, SATURDAY-SUNDAY
Backpack Trip. Wrights Lake (off Hwy 50) to Twin Lakes This beautiful trail travels along a lush meadow and then turns and crosses granite slabs for awesome views of the Crystal Range. We walk in for 3.1 miles with an elevation gain of 1,200'. Good campsites around Twin Lakes. It is Desolation Wilderness, so no campfires. Call
leader for sign-up. Leader approval needed. A $20 registration will be required. The forest service will only allow 10 people in a group. I will return most of the registration fee. If you cancel, I will need to replace you for a fee return. Leader: Jack Tolomei 916.944.4942.

Enjoy a day at the beach, at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. A short, easy hike with beautiful views. 8 miles & 1,700' elev. gain. Evening Dinner and Walk (1A). North Natomas
There is a nice little trail and park going out North at what used to be the end of civilization in Sacramento. Bring water, sun hat, jacket, and flashlight in case we stay out late. We will do a 5-mile (or so) brisk stroll with a break at the picnic area in the park. We can look for the quickly diminishing jackrabbit families. Meet 5:30 p.m. for dinner at La Fiesta Taqueria near the CSAA offices. It’s in the north (Borders Books) part of the shopping center on the NE corner of Truxel/Natomas and Del Paso Blvd. Leader: Barb 916.925.5862.

Day Hike (2B). Lower Lola Montez Lake The lake is small but pretty at about 7000?. We may have to share the trail with mountain bikes. Moderate hike, 8 miles and 1000 ft elevation gain. Rain cancels. Meet 9 a.m. @ Roseville

JULY 27, SUNDAY
Day Hike (2B). Sand Ridge and the Five Lakes Basin
A series of beautiful lakes lines the trail on this hike and most have deep sections suitable for a summer swim. The trail starts at Carr Lake Camp. The path borders the shores of Feely Lake
and offers good views of Fall Creek Mountain. After going downhill for a time we will see Island Lake, the prettiest lake in the region. After hiking awhile longer, we will come to Penner Lake with a panoramic view of the valley on one side and distant hills and peaks on the other side. The trail winds up the hill then, down to Rock Lake. With so
many nice lakes for swimming, be sure to include your swimsuit with the essentials. At 8 miles & 1,500' elev. gain, this is a challenging hike for the average hiker, and I walk at a brisk pace, so it is more suitable for those who work out regularly. Limited to 12. We’ll hike from Palomarin trailhead to Wildcat Camp and along the shore to Alamere Falls. Along the way we’ll pass several small lakes and see great views of the coast.
