Sierra Club outings are conducted by volunteers who have completed the Sierra Club's Outings Leadership Training Program. These outings are open to both Club members and the general public.
There is normally no fee for participation; however, there are often expenses for park fees, bridge tolls and a contribution to your driver that should be taken into account. Some outings also offer an optional dinner stop on the return home.
The difficulty of each trip is usually rated with a Classifications that are explained in the Important Outings Information. Also, each outing participant must have the Essentials, which are also listed in Important Outings Information.
