Members and Non-Members Are Welcome
John
Muir founded the Sierra Club in 1892 to share
his love of nature and the earth. He knew that if people learned
to explore, enjoy, and value the wild lands they would also work to preserve them.
Mother Lode Chapter offers
outings that are conducted by volunteers who have successfully completed the Outings
Leadership Training Program, and are open to both Club members and the general public.
Normally there is no fee for participating on an outing (unless
specified); however, there are usually associated expenses like entrance/parking fees, bridge tolls and driver contribution that should be taken into account.
Many trips are rated by difficulty using
the "Classifications" explained in "Important Outings Information". Also, each outing participant must have their "Essentials", which are also listed in "Important Outings Information".
