We will visit Monty Wolfs Cabin, the Double Falls, Blue Hole, and the Salt Springs native american archeology site. We have an aggressive hiking schedule, it may look easy but we will often only achieve 1 mile per hour in the canyon. The trail in on day one may be the a little faster going. The trail starts at Carr Lake Camp. The path borders the shores of Feely Lake and offers good views of Fall Creek Mountain. After going downhill for a time we will see Island Lake, the prettiest lake in the region. After hiking awhile longer, we will come to Penner Lake with a panoramic view of the valley on one side and distant hills and peaks on the other side. The trail winds up the hill then, down to Rock Lake. With so many nice lakes for swimming, be sure to include your swimsuit with the essentials. At 8 miles & 1,500’ elev. gain, this is a challenging hike for the average hiker, and I walk at a brisk pace, so it is more suitable for those who work out regularly. Limited to 12. Call or email for reservation and meeting place (email preferred) on or after July 17th. Prediction of thunderstorms cancels. Leader: Henry Smith Outside@Now1One.com or 916.600.5664.
